I've heard him on BBC Radio 2 quite a bit - but really I don't think he's gotten much airplay here in the US. Reminds of Adele - who got her 'overnight success' treatment after an SNL performance in 08 after already being at the top in the UK. Is he too British? If you're wondering about his UK popularity -
The show you mentioned happening in the Fremantle Prison sounds great! I think that band - The Living End - is one Peter T. could get down on - although I hear a bit of Weezer there and not sure about Peter T.'s Weezer barometer... Tangentially related (bands in prison not named Johnny Cash) - when in Dublin IRE recently I was extremely fortunate to visit the Kilmainham Gaol Museum. Other than the minor bit about its importance in the Irish Republic - it was also the scene of this U2 video - Celebration - directed by friend of DB Meiert Avis -
