: What does everyone out there think of musicians that sell their music for things like this?

I think the musicians are just people and are not really doing anything awful by letting their music be used in this way. This sort of criticism seems only to apply to pop stars and rock 'n' rollers. If they use some jazz or a classical piece in an ad nothing is said about it. As Mick points out this is America...and EVERYTHING is for sale here. On these people making odd statements about the reasoning behind why they do this and the politics of mingling your "art" with corporate shenanigans well hey...these pop stars and rock 'n' rollers are not supposed to be Rhodes scholars or political science majors are they? They sing and play their instruments well. Should we really expect them to also be brilliant intellectual beings with a heart of gold? I think my solution to not hearing the music I love abused to sell a hot dog on tv is not to turn on the tv. I understand where you're coming from though and I think this is why we are all attracted to Mr. Baerwald's music. David Baerwald seems to stay true to himself with his music and his reasons for making it. It's honest somehow in a world where what's true seems always to be determined by the highest bidder. Enjoy the music and kill your television. Does that bumper sticker the thing?
