Wow, it's amazing how this chat board has completely revamped my perception on the phenomenon known as Baerwald music. Almost exactly a year ago, right before finding this site, while listening to Triage I mused on the whereabouts of David and the fate of other artists who have made an impression on me and then retreated to the shadows of the music world. At the time, I remember thinking, had I been independently wealthy I would gladly offer to fully subsidize a co-produced Baerwald and Lanois album (as I was concurrently listening frequently to "For the Beauty of Wynona"). So here we are at present time chatting with David on what I thought would forever remain hypothetical and unanswered questions.
Thank you David, may we never end up creeping you out with this running dialogue.
I also have a question for you. Last year, thanks to this site, I was able to contact you and arrange a drive down to L.A. to see you perform. Fabulous, as expected. Just wondering if you might be performing with the NFU again anytime soon in the L.A. area. The performance is definitely worth the drive.
