At first I thought Lanois was maybe too obvious a call, though we share a fondness for the Eventide H3000 and Neve 1073 mic preamps. I played with him one night at a club here and was amazed by how he transformed a pretty mediocre bar band into the Meters over the space of one song. You're right. I should talk to him. He has a sort of offbeat recording palace up in Oxnard that in many ways is similar to the Palindrome. Clearly a brilliant producer. Quite expensive and very busy, though. But you're right, and we'll contact him.
