I don't want to reflect back on Trump's second term and find that I was again in a perpetual state of agitation. It's just not healthy for mind or body, and it would represent such an enormous opportunity cost. But how does one balance the needs for sanity, and spending time productively, with the responsibility of being an informed, engaged, and vigilant citizen? There must be a balance to strike!

I can't again get into the daily deep dives into all things politics. Immersion in the day-to-day political news cycle doesn't lead to human flourishing!  I intend to take more walks, listen to more music, and seek out more literature that has endured, that has provided real lessons for humanity. I want to participate in conversations that don't always steer into the all too predictable gripe sessions related to the latest Trump insanity.

If I'm successful, and avoid being helplessly sucked into the 24/7 Trump festival of hate, I feel that it will be my act of defiance, my resistance, and it'll  be a real victory for me ... and perhaps you too!
