For Father's Day my girls gave me a journal called Dad, I Want To Hear Your Story. It's about 127 pages long and you can also buy an online version to fill it out online and print it out. I am going to fill it online and then fill the journal out in hand.
The questions and data-seeking prompts inside are outstanding. When I opened it and started flipping through it, I struggled not to cry because to me, my girls told me that what I have done as a father has mattered.
They also make one for mothers and grandparents. I highly, highly recommend filling one of these journals out.
I also sent them a recommendation that they develop a version for a child and in a way that would allow it to move forward through the years as they age.
