After using the word "crafty," the oft-forgotten concept of how others may interpret word meanings differently than me raised its head. This is what I love and hate about language - the shifting interpretations of the meaning of words to the individual.

To clarify, on the one hand, crafty can indicate shifty, slippery, nefarious, manipulative, et cetera, while on the other hand, it means artistic, talented, creative and the like, AND this is how I interpret the meaning of the word "craft" in my mind - when I think of the word "craft" I think of one capable of artistic accomplishment in the arts or creative endeavors and it is all to my own father.

So, the intent of "craft" was not to offend or misalign one's behavior but instead as a positive word of skill and talent.
