Can really edit and do a pretty good job paraphrasing and crafting concise and paraphrased summations pretty well and just like a Southern writer (fewer words and to the point). So, yes what you replied does capture quite a bit of what I perceive.  But in ways, I also believe we already exist under a sort of economic and capitalistic fascism, but like G. H.W. Bush declared about his politics, rather than it being an obvious form of economic fascism, it is instead a somewhat "kinder and gentler" form of economic fascism (and in a way, an even more despicable form because of how covertly it consumes everyday citizens like a tick or leech). Lastly, one of my biggest fears is this - and it may not happen until I die or for 100 years - or hopefully not at all - but with the polarization of how things are now, what is going to happen in this country when White people, and especially those in positions of true economic power - you know, the one's in the shadows we never hear much about - internalize what it may be like to be a minority population.  Will the country turn left or right? My fear is that it will be a hard right and then, even a larger segment will then start having a change of thought and start to believe that maybe a bit of White, nationalistic, Christian fascism might not be all bad and that this will grow (then of course, they will learn the vast majority of them really won't have it any better than the rest of us, but by then, it may be too late). Now, I'm not condoning this at all.  Let me make that clear.  But what scares me, as more and more Whites start seeing this waning of historical power and influence, and with a steady diet of FoxNews/White misinformation, then their perspectives of Tribes may change and not for the better.  And THIS is where I fear the weakened aspects of our governmental institutions may make it possible for this country to edge even closer to what some may accept as a fascist government.  s Then, throwing in this country's own habit of excusing our most despicable acts under the myth of the concept of the existence of "American Exceptionalism" only allows a more myopic interpretation of reactions to our behaviors to those abroad, while believing we are the only country on the planet with rectums that do not stink. Therefore, we don't really need to be a beacon of Democracy, other than the form Americans decide to "promote."
