Gruesome stuff to read but we are in it and the Trump minions seem much less interested in hiding it now. I think people should take them at their word and believe them when they say it.
So, there is a film coming out in December called The Zone of Interest, based very loosely on a novel by Martin Amis from 2014. It is directed and written by a guy named Jonathan Glazer, really in my opinion a remarkable filmmaker. Based on what Glazer does, it is likely more of a mood piece than a story. It centers around a Nazi officer and his family living a beautiful, bucolic life just outside the walls of Auschwitz.
I think it will be an important film what with the sudden openness with which Trump and his followers seem to be attaching themselves to the Nazi movement. Basically, it appears to be about the ease with which some people can essentially accept as normal the horror taking place right next to them.
Not that I want to push more Nazi stuff on you, David, when you have been in the midst of all that research, you could probably use a break from it but it seems like this will be one worth seeing.
Here's the trailer, it kind of makes me feel queasy but I would say that's the intent...
