I remember during the US post 9/11 attack on Iraq seeing an interview with this depressed Iraqi soldier, sitting on a stoop, smoking a cigarette, holding some kind of bazooka. The reporter asked him, "Why do you fight for Saddam, he's been such a disaster?" and the guy said, "I don't know anything about that, but after my daughters were killed in the bombings..." And that was the end of the interview.
