I think that when we have people who obviously can't be trusted to be in charge of anything, it raises suspicions in a lot of us. I don't want to believe that Netanyahu knew this attack was coming and let it happen so that they could bomb the living hell out of the Gaza Strip, but damn if it does not look that way.
I take heart in the things that Kevin and David posted that say the Israelis are blaming Netanyahu for this disaster. I have faith that the majority of Israeli people will want him removed for this. We can't have known liars like Donald and Bibi running things because how can you believe a word they say?
Sadly, I think this is part of the point. That they create chaos and confusion and in the midst of it work toward their own personal goals. For these leaders, it is not about loyalty to country or people, it is about achieving their personal goals through a show of brutal force. This is why Trump loved Kim Jong Un so much, he ruled through pure terror. His people fear him, this is what Trump wants and everything he says to his followers is about making them afraid. He is in all kinds of legal peril because he openly all through his life committed criminal acts, and he tells his followers they are not coming for him, THEY are coming for them. Idiotic, but people buy into that. Netanyahu wants to rule through fear. Putin instills fear in people. Kill your opposition and leave the body in the street for people to look at. It's the reminder of what will happen to them. Trump desperately wants this power and that should sicken Americans, but there are always people attracted to that kind of thing. How do you lead all these people away from their fears? It's not the first time we have had to ask the question:
We have to believe in each other. Believe we can solve problems together. We have to tell the Trumps and Netanyahus to fuck off. They are dividers. They want us separate, afraid, seeing only doom. They want to fill hearts with hate. To justify brutality and make us give in to our worst instincts.
There is a theory that if we visualize the world we want to see we can make that world come to pass. That this vision will enter the collective consciousness and all or most people will share that vision. Obviously, there is a group of people that do not want that vision to be shared and poison it, they subjugate people through fear and brutality. They give them a "they" to hate. Hate is the fog.
It's why I never give up on, Pat. How can he see the way, the middle way, if nobody shows it to him. First we must lift that veil of fog.
But right now, man, right now...it's the season...the season of the...
