I started experiencing phantosmia sometime in 2020. By the time I went in to be checked for Covid, it was beyond the 90 days where the antibodies would still be present—at least that's what I was told—so I could never make an actual connection to a Covid infection. I went so far as to have our gas fireplace tuned to make sure it wasn't putting off some sort of odor. It wasn't. Nobody else could smell the smoke odor that I was experiencing. It still comes and goes but not as frequently and it doesn't stay around nearly as long as it used to. Sometimes it would go for weeks without a lapse. It's been a month or more since I last experienced it.
I hear Covid infections are on the rise again and hospitals are being stressed due to it. We're still maskless at medical facilities here in MN but I'm wondering if that will change before long.
