So, I made it through the entire official pandemic period without ever getting Covid. Unless I had it right at the beginning because I did have cold like symptoms. I also followed the vaccination protocol and had my 4 shots. 

Well, flash forward to the present. Julia invites her mom to fly up from Florida to visit. She arrives and a few days into her stay believes she has a sinus infection and goes to urgent care about getting some medication for it. Turns out, she has Covid. She comes back and Julia quarantines her in a room in the house. She is prescribed Paxlovid, a 5 day regime, and begins taking it immediately.   

Sure enough, a few days later, Julia and I come down with Covid. It seems to be impacting us in different ways. Julia's Covid seems to involve a severe sore throat. Mine does not involve a sore throat but is more like feeling like I was run over by a bus and feeling very tired. I have congestion, mild, a low-grade headache, coughing at times, and some up and down issues with some fever. I am only taking some Ibuprofen and Sudafed to combat the symptoms. 

I am in day 4 of the infection and I can say so far, day 3 and today have been the worst. I did not sleep well last night due to a lot of coughing, so pretty exhausted today with a bit of a sore chest. 

Neither Julia nor I are taking Paxlovid. Her due to the fact that it interacts with some other medications she takes and I because I figured I would just ride it out. 

I am pretty disappointed I have it because I had been around people with it on several occasions and did not get it. I was feeling I had an immunity to it. Well, guess not. 

It's not the worst thing I have had but it is enough of an ass kicker that you do not feel like doing much of anything and I spent a lot of the past couple afternoons sleeping on and off. Definitely not enjoying it.
