isn't it more that this is just the internet mass communication thing making us aware of everything that was already there? The world has always been full of bigots and madmen and racists and everything else, hasn't it? It's just now they can spew their guts up (they would have written 'there'...good spelling is anathema to them)...and we are forced to live it. Identity involves duality. And thus polarity. This kid surely would have known that she was courting controversy, not that it is ok. The best thing to do is keep one's head down and be the change we wish to see in the world...
