Be nice to your flight instructor, he could kill you...

No, I did not make it to flying solo. I really want to but lots of life stuff intervened and I have now not flown in about 2 and a half years. Covid being part of that obviously. I never had the chance to fly with the female instructor either. I chatted with her several times, she was odd, and kind of the opposite of the guy I was flying with. He was a bit of a nut, ex-military type, that would constantly screw with me. I noticed he did not do that with other students. He was also teaching a young girl and he was very polite with her. The female instructor was very calm and soft spoken and warm. So, she would probably not be saying we were going to die or flying through turbulence laughing like a madman and asking me what I think of this. I mean, I figured he could tell I could be a smartass and I was not nervous so I think he wanted to rattle me or shake my cage. I kind of thought he was a good instructor because he was not taking the same approach with every student. Or maybe he just did not like me.
Once we were flying for a while and I was not saying anything. I was kind of blissed out looking out the window and just loving every second of being up there and he finally said "Everything OK over there?"
I turned to him smiling and said "Yeah, I was just trying to decide if it would be more fun to crash into something or just plow this thing right into the ocean." and I think I had him for a second or two. After that I think he did not want to show me any mercy. There is a price to pay when you deal people some wise ass but I am always OK with paying it.
