Yes, you are correct. It was not an overnight thing and Trump just was the front man that pushed it to the next level and emboldened all the monsters to take the next step. Putin and social media played their parts but really years of cramming it down the throats of the middle class really prepared the playing field. 

Basically, the numbers don't lie. 74 million people voted for the Trump/Bannon/Putin destruction of our country. Sure, some/many probably did not grasp that was what they were doing but plenty of them were all fired up to throw the grenade. So, here we are. Trump being gone just caused the Republican party to take up where he left off. 

The plan is there, ignore the rule of law, force them to take you to court, keep appealing to keep the process ongoing for years, fill local election and school boards with the loons that want to end democracy and destroy the country, have the right wing media outlets spread lies and misinformation nonstop, and you can likely regain control of the government before they can prosecute you....and you win. 

Of course we will then no longer have a country, the people running the show will be fascist morons, and when that glacier slides into the ocean, well, it will be handled the way they handled the pandemic. The rich and powerful will take all they need and abandon everybody else. 

Great legacy to leave the kids in this world. Mass destruction, starvation, slow death, and total worldwide panic. Should be great and I am sure all the people that supported these bastards will blame it all on liberals and the Democrats because they did not warn them about what was coming.
