Yes, we are in a bind and really all that can get us out at this point is Republicans that do not want to go along with destroying our democracy (they seem in short supply), an informed public that wants to save our democracy (this is why FOX and other right wing media have gone so hog wild to spread misinformation), or natural selection (which our old friend Heath argued would take too long but with the way Republican governors, media, and loons in DC seem to want to kill off their voters with Covid, who knows}. 

Here's the problem, if Democrats manage to win and hang on by their fingernails to the House and Senate the lunatic wing of the Republican party, which now runs their party, is going to cry foul and call the results rigged. Trump will be front and center cheerleading that. If that happens this country will shift into high alert waiting for the pending attacks from right wing loons that likely will be deadly.

If Democrats lose the House and Senate, all investigations into Republican wrongdoing will be shut down and we will move a step closer to never having a free and fair election in this country again,

We are at the point where the question is can democracy survive in the United States. Sadly we are also at the point where we may get a very hard lesson that majorities do not matter in our system, It is only about 30% of our country that wants to destroy our country but concentrated in the states that they are in, that is enough to do the trick. 

Combine that with the massive wave we are going to be hit with of people retiring from government both Democrats and Republicans that do not want any part of what is coming and...we are literally barely hanging on to the country our founding fathers gave us. 

When good people leave government now, the loons are going to rush in, The Boberts, Greenes, Jordans, these are not freak mistakes...they are a trend. Bannon's plan that he laid out is to fill election boards and school boards in states with these kind of scumbags. They are doing it. If loons run our elections and our school boards in states, and they will....wow, we are screwed. They will throw out election results based on who they prefer to declare the winner and schools will deteriorate into utter madness.

I don't think people see this coming or they think, no that won't happen. Look at Texas, Florida, Arizona...these states are destroying the rights of the people and full on attacking our electoral system and other states are lining up right behind them with 19 red states promoting movements to separate from our federal government. 

When you see a state like Texas fail to rise to the fight to protect the rights of their citizens...man, I just don't know if people will rise to fight what is coming...and the Republicans are counting on that lack of a fight. We are running out of chances here and basically are two election cycles away from the United States of America being swamped by a fascist movement that will alter the course of the entire planet.
