No doubt you've attempted a futile conversation with a Toontown hardcore rightist

The sad and silly truth of it is, yes, I have. It was not something I wanted to do it just happened because I know people that were Trump voters and they remain people I interact with and every once and a while they explode at me with some rambling nonsense. So, the CRT thing was one of these things where this guy thought he had me, he was telling me how horrible CRT was and they were teaching it "in our schools" and I had been looking at the CRT thing and my wife being a teacher and one that consults on other school's curriculum I had obviously talked to her about it and she laughed and said "I have never heard of that in all my years of teaching or education."

BECAUSE IT IS NOT A FUCKING THING!

I did kind of lose my shit in the conversation because he said to me something like "We are protesting CRT at school boards all over the country and we are going to stop them from teaching this crap to our kids."

This angered me because my wife is a teacher, I have friends that are teachers, that have spent their careers in education, and I have a lot of love and respect for these people. So, hearing about idiots harassing educators about something that is not even happening totally pissed me off. 

Their jobs are hard enough and now we have an army of right wing nuts threatening them over masks and CRT...it is just fucking idiotic and offensive beyond belief. 

He left our little chat embarrassed and feeling foolish and fairly angry at me...at times I was not nice...but he understood me and why I was pissed off. He probably went back to his bubble of nut job Trumpists though and buried his head back in the sand. So, in the end I probably got nowhere and drove home talking to myself like a man that had lost his mind. Which is what I am.
