I remember the Steve Hoffman exchange vividly, and I tried to coax as much info out of Kerzner as was possible.  (Obviously, he'd only have what he discussed with Kevin).

In regard to the 2nd link, it did not go unnoticed by me when Dan Schwartz called it essentially a marriage of "my music" (Dan's) and Bill Bottrell, reducing Kevin, David and others to a different level.  When I listen to that album, I can hear, feel, and read David Baerwald's influence all over that music.  More than Kevin Gilbert, I think.  Of course, I don't really know.

Do love that "Joytown" bass line, though.  What a remarkable and unique-sounding thing.
