The musical choices, like the book, film, food, clothing, etc. choices are ridiculously large. It's extremely rare that my tastes align with the mainstream, and I like it like that. In fact, if they do align, I have to question myself. So where does one go to reasonably locate something that will truly grab you? I typically listen to what you all offer up but it rarely connects with me. My long time friends no longer try to keep up. I don't listen to music radio. Sometimes I check out the artists that my favorites tout but that's usually more miss than hit. I can thank Aussie legend Paul Kelly for mentioning the Go-Betweens and Weddings Parties Anything in an interview and I totally dig them. Kevin from Arizona, a once terrific contributor here, introduced me to Frank Turner. Our beloved friend, Kyle, sent me some Belle and Sebastian discs that I still treasure. I've met and forgotten many folks on-line but I do recall a Canadian gent who introduced me to this STELLAR song from Spirit in the West. It's been called Canada's alternative national anthem. Sadly, the singer just died from early onset Alzheimers, he wasn't even 60, but damn, an instantly memorable classic.
I've never met anyone who didn't embrace this!
