Healthcliff, so sorry to hear of all your losses....words simply aren't possible......In the last few months there have been some very good documetaries on about opioids. Most recently Showtime had a five part series called The Trade and a few months ago (I pointed it out) HBO also had one. One thing I found very interesting (and some what optimistic) in these documentaries is when veteran police officers were on camera and talking and how they were coming around to the point of view that those addicted to these substances were not bad people and were dealing with something way beyond their control. One thing I was really glad about was how Sullivan linked together our society and culture and what it is doing to a human being in the broadest of measures and what it means to someone when these substances are used to modulate their "pain" - what ever that "pain" may be. And he is so right - this country is not adult enough to try ways that may work to deal with this issue.
