Well, I'm sorry if that is the way I come across. Honestly, this is not
all I think about. Last summer I was in Pennsylvania for the 4th of July
doing a bunch of summer stuff. When I was there people kept asking me
about what I thought about the presidential candidates and how the whole
primary process would play out. At the time, like most everybody else, I
thought that the RNC would back Jeb Bush and the DNC would back Hillary
and because that basically disgusted me I told people I did not want to
talk about it. I said it was way too early to think about it...mostly
because I did not want to think about it.
Some of the people were really pushing to find out what I thought
about
Bernie and really, again like everybody else, I thought Bernie was just
one of the tomato cans that the DNC was going to allow to run against
Hillary because basically they seemed to make sure there was nobody
running against her that could present her with a reasonable challenge.
My thought was that was obviously intentional. I mean hell, they even
asked Biden not to run. So, the decks were cleared to crown Hillary and
it also seemed that the Democrats had a total lock on winning
presidential elections. So my feeling then (and all of the mainstream
media seemed to agree) was we were pretty much already doomed to suffer a
Hillary Clinton presidency.
It was around late September early October last year that I started
to
pay attention.
And then things got weird...
First thing I noticed was people were taking Bernie Sanders much more
seriously than I would have ever expected...people...not the media or the
DNC. People were showing they were excited about him and then as things
went on I discovered younger voters were really connecting with him as
well. The more Bernie talked and got in front of people the more they
liked him. Then a little too late, I think, it dawned on me that one of
the reasons people were flocking to Bernie was so many people that are
registered Democrats and pretty much all registered Independents can't
stand Hillary. The media and the DNC marched through these months with
their heads firmly buried in the sand. They ignored the voting and they
ignored the polls. They kept claiming none of it was real or relevant and
they kept trying to pretend that Hillary was the only serious candidate.
But what became very clear was this...anybody...and I mean you could
run
Satan, Hitler, or Caligula...that runs against Hillary has a chance of
beating her. She is just a truly horrible candidate. Oddly, it seems that
people in the media and the DNC and a lot of these ridiculous pundits and
prognosticators are just realizing this now.
And really, all the signs were there you just needed to look at them.
Hillary is one of the great dividers in politics, she has a horrible
track record, is one of the most dishonest politicians of the last 40
years, is prone to making horrific blunders and people truly do not trust
her and rightly so. This led to Bernie Sanders beating her in nearly half
of the states in the primary process. He likely will continue to beat her
in the remaining contests.
If the candidates are Trump and Clinton...well...I also then will not
have a dog in the fight because I would not vote for either one even with
a gun to my head. However, if you have been reading my rantings here I
believe that Trump presents us with a far greater danger due to his
economic ideas...which are the financial equivalent of Armageddon. His
foreign policy, at least as far as I can tell, seems to be based on the
simple principal of "we will leave you alone if you leave us alone." and
he seems not to care if other parts of the world start slaughtering one
another. He seems to be indicating his idea would be not to
intervene...this seems like old school Republican thinking. He also seems
to want to pull out troops in parts of the world where they don't
need to be. Again, old school. This could destabilize a lot of the planet
though. Combine this with his economic ideas and we could end up with a
giant shift in what the world map looks like.
Clinton, as horrible as she is, remains a far better choice than
Trump
basically because she does not share Trump's ideas about economic
apocalypse as a path to creating "better deals" for the United States.
Sure, she would change nothing but she probably would, in terms of policy
anyway, not radically make things worse. Trump poses a problem of world
instability in a very fragile moment in time that is quite honestly
horrifying. I do think we should take that seriously.
Which brings me to your question...
"So what do you think about Biden emerging during the convention?"
I think it is a real possibility. Here's what has obviously happened.
A
short time ago the Democrats actually learned that there would be an ugly
report issued by the OIG at the State Department that basically said
Hillary was way out of line and they never approved a single thing she
did. This has FINALLY heightened the feeling that she may in fact end up
indicted. So, Biden has been talked to and then started issuing
statements...about him being president and also about the fact that he
would have chosen Elizabeth Warren as VP. This is almost certainly not an
accident nor something out of the blue...this is likely the plan so they
already have it out there that they have a team to step right in if
Hillary ends up indicted. They have the Biden/Warren ticket ready to go.
Now, they do this because they just don't want Bernie. They can't control
him, they can't get him to bend to their will, and about the only thing
he has agreed to with the Democrats is that he would not attack Hillary
except on policy matters...which pretty much hurt his campaign.
It would have been interesting to see where we would be right now if
Biden had run because I think he may have made the whole battle with
Bernie even more interesting and would have certainly drained even more
votes from Crooked Hillary. I also think right about now the DNC are
really thinking that a Biden/Warren ticket sounds a hell of a lot better
than a Hillary/Anybody ticket of any kind. I think they finally are
starting to catch on that they will lose voters in the MILLIONS if she is
their candidate...and that could be a real game changer that results in
the horrible reality of a President Trump.
