"Reg - your post is not based on logic."I think it is very much based in logic. "It's based on conspiracy theories."Actually, no I left my conspiracy theories out of that post. Were I to
present a conspiracy theory it would be that Donald Trump destroyed the
Republican Party in this election cycle as a favor to the Clintons. That
would be difficult to prove though so it would have to be left in the
conspiracy theory playground. Plus I'm not sure anybody saw the Trump
thing coming which makes the theory fairly far-fetched. "You say your disdain for the "Clintons" is evident"Well, it is isn't it? I mean I don't think Hillary and Bill will be
sending me a Christmas card. "- but what you don't say - but imply - is that the "Clintons" somehow
control our government to point of bending and twisting it to benefit
them directly or fit their narrative."Well, they do bend, twist, and manipulate to their benefit and have an
enormous amount of sway over the Democratic party and sadly the media but
no they do not control our government. They influence the government in
horrible ways and often what they do sets precedents for future bad
behavior...meaning others will justify doing the same sort of dishonest
and self-serving garbage because the Clintons got away with it. The media
fully participates in creating and promoting their phony narrative. "If that was the case - why did Hillary lose in 2008?"Because the truth is the majority of the public dislikes her and an
opportunity arose for the DNC to back a person of color for president and
they dove at the chance. They were shocked that Obama got the wave of
public support that he did but he was in the eyes of most people a far
better candidate than Hillary. This was quite a stunner for Hillary and
Bill and that's why it was obvious they would play much more dirty this
time around. And the funny thing is...she is once again struggling with a
candidate that nobody in the media took seriously and openly called
himself a "socialist" pretty much dooming him in the South and parts of
the middle of the country. Yet, she still has barely limped her way to
"victory" against him and it's not over yet. She still will probably take
some big losses to him even though the media has turned up the heat on
assassinating him. "Why was Bill impeached? I can't imagine this was planned for some
greater "Clinton" good."Mainly because he dug his own hole on that but also because yes, the
Republicans despise the Clintons. No, the Clintons had no control over
that and they were open to that attack specifically because they have so
many skeletons in their closet. The Republicans will support the election
of Hillary Clinton but once in office the strategy will change to
destroying her. And there is more dirt on her than there was on Bill when
he was president. I do have a blind spot that I think makes me vulnerable to missing things
and that is that I tend to always approach things with the idea that
somebody intelligently thought these things out and they are not an
accident...that there is a reason and thought process behind these
things. Where I mess up is when, like in All the President's Men where
Deep Throat tells Woodward "These are not bright guys.", people just do
something stupid I often am chasing the idea that they actually thought
it out and knew where they were going with it. This email scandal is an example. Now I think that when the Republicans
went after Hillary on the Benghazi thing that was just bullshit and they
knew they were not going to get her on that but what the Benghazi thing
did do was allow them to subpoena her for her emails. This forced her to
have to reveal her secret server set-up. I think that somebody knew she
was doing all her business on a private email and probably also had
discovered she was using a secret server in her house. See, I don't think
they cared at all about getting her on Benghazi I think they saw a way to
get her on the real crime of having her own secret server. I think this
is what they were after all along. Now I could be wrong and the Republicans could have just stumbled into
this but I doubt it. I also think they wanted to time this out so the
email scandal would be getting investigated during primary season. They
would have expected this to do some real harm to her. Right now the
investigation, in terms of timing, is playing out beautifully for the
Republicans because the results and indictment could happen around or
just after the Democratic Convention or it could happen even later...say
in the fall...which would be even worse for Clinton and the Democrats. So, no the Clintons are not in control but they are through their own
arrogance and stupidity making a mess of what is going on. This is one of
their major issues. While they have been able to accrue a great deal of
power they are due to a massive level of hubris and greed quite prone to
making absolutely asinine mistakes. This email deal being one of them.
