Thanks, all. I'm a work in progress and I'm not ashamed to say that.

I do feel sorry for people who are so wedded to their ideologies that they can't admit when they've been hoodwinked or are being used. I mean, I get that that is the nature of politics but what's happening on the right is simply madness. You've got half of the electorate out there supporting candidates who think it's perfectly fine that 40% of our country's wealth is in the hands of 1%. How did we get to that place where nobody on the conservative side seems to be questioning that? It's like they're all being led to slaughter and nobody is putting up any resistance. Their focus is on a whole lot of other piddly shit that doesn't matter while they're so blind to a much larger dilemma; the atrophying of the middle- class.

I know this is nothing new to most of you here and I should've made these realizations much sooner than I did. That's what I feel stupid about. I'm not a dumb guy but the fact that I was marching lockstep with that crowd concerns me. It tells me there's a lot of work to do to open the eyes of others as well to get us working together in a way that seems so impossible now.

Sorry. I didn't mean to turn this into something more than it was intended to be. It must be the wine!
