So you're saying that because Jesus is speaking to Israeli's, his words do not apply to christianity? Is that really what you're saying? Because based on your position here, christ never once spoke to christians, since christianity didn't exist yet, and therefore christian doctrine is in no way based on anything in the 4 gospels that were chosen as part of the New Testament.

Am I summing that up properly? Because if that is truly your position (which I have not seen echoed anywhere else, including a friend of mine with a PhD in Theology), then christianity is based on the writings of christian leaders in the first couple centuries A.D. rather than the words of christ himself.

You can pontificate all you want about "faith", but this position reeks of someone attempting to justify their own personal beliefs by distorting dogma to his own end.
