Roger:Go check out ADAPTATION if you have not yet seen this film.
This is the film by CHARLIE KAUFFMAN and SPIKE JONEZ,
which stars NICOLAS CAGE, MERYL STREEP, and CHRIS
COOPER (for which he won an Oscar). Just as good as their
first effort BEING JOHN MALKOVICH!I would give this film my highest recommendation. Also, seeing as you did not like MATRIX RELOADED ---
perhaps you might enjoy the ANIMATRIX DVD? I am just now
getting my feet wet in the ANIME field --- when Hollywood
wants to produce endless sequels, ANIME may just be a way to
keep an edge and still maintain somewhat of an intelligence
to the proceedings.THE ANIMATRIX was very valuable to the idea of providing
deep background into the past history of the MATRIX itself.
The stories are very well done --- I have to admit that the
ANIMATRIX is actually better than the RELOADED film. But
RELOADED got stuck with a lot of politics and philosophy,
which did not play well for some people who are not very
knowladgeable about such things. Also --- while I am on the subject of DVD's --- if you are into
music there is a killer LED ZEPPELIN DVD set that was recently
released, as well as a really beautiful MONTEREY POP FESTIVAL
DVD box set --- which came out a few months ago. The
Monetrey Pop DVD box has the complete films of the
MONTEREY POP concert film, JIMI PLAYS MONTEREY, OTIS
REDDING PLAYS MONETERY, and an outstanding bonus DVD,
which features several hours of great performances that were
not included elsewhere --- such as live footage of THE
ASSOCIATION performing ALONG COMES MARY --- one of my
all-time favorites from yesteryear. The really neat thing was
how they introduced the band and the song --- as sort of a
anti-establishment screed. Those are my best recomendations for film-based DVD's.Now if you are into CONSPIRACY TV --- three recently
released DVD box sets of great TV shows include the first
seasons of all of the following:01) Dark Angel (6 DVD's - 21 episodes))02) The Dead Zone (4-DVD's - 13 episodes)03) La Femme Nikita (6 DVD's - 22 episodes)I have all three of the above, and I can say they are certainly
worth watching --- as they provide an interesting look into
how LUCIFER'S DREAMBOX (as Bill Hicks called it) forms and
shapes opinions in the mass consciousness of our murderous
and fear driven popular culture.Plus --- looking at JESSICA ALBA or PETA WILSON for an hour
is not too much torture on the eyes!!If you are not sure about TV shows on DVD --- let me say
that of all the TV shows I have taken home on DVD --- they
all play much better without commercials! Plus, they are all
mixed in 5.1 Surround!Oh, one more recommendation . . . my favorite film of ALL-
TIME!BUCKAROO BANZAI (1984) Starring PETER WELLER, JEFF
GOLDBLUM, and the fabulous JOHN LITHGOW as Dr. Lizardo!Great stuff --- where the fuck is the SEQUEL TO THIS
ONE?!?!?!?Enjoy!!Peace and Prayers,Kent Daniel Bentkowski
