Sorry, I misspoke. I meant to say the House was controlled by the Democrats during that time.That of course put them in control of all house committees and meant any potential spending had to go through them first. As far as the religous right, they give me the creeps. I'd prefer if they were the dying breed - but I do feel their influence will deminish the longer they shout at the rain.
