Merry Christmas 2010.The President we elected emerged this year. The paid for Congress joined the unemployment lines. Lobbyists too.Health care reform bit the ravenous bastards who had turned whether we breath healthfully or not into a profit exercise that challenged the don't-give-a-shit-about-America Wall Street too-big-to-fail merchants of monetary assassination and fiscal treachery to a fight to contribute shamelessly to a GDP they no longer want to reflect we the people of collective bargaining and assembly line manufacture.Bit them with government run competition. Bit the bankers with a 21st century restatement of Glass-Steagle that reined in greed the way it had the century before.Obama flexed political muscle it took him longer than his first year in office to find. Geitner, Sommers, and Rahm Emanuel felt the sting of it and are gone.Progressives and others who wear the mantle of our revolutionary ancestors better than conservative do, rejoined the fray and saw to it that the bug-a-boo of midterm elections disappeared amidst an election campaign the results of which which saw Democrat numbers increase in both houses of Congress.Commerce Department officials, with newly-found backbone, finally met tariffs with tariffs, the old fashioned way, and the trade imbalance became less favorable to China. All in all 2010 appears to be sliding seamlessly into 2011 on the domestic front.War still threatens stability among nations, the Middle East froths at the mouths of ineffective quarterbacks such as Netanyahu seeking peace. But hope runs up and down the sidelines waitng for a chance to get in the game.Too many grudges, too much vengeance seeking, too little turning of the other cheek and forgiveness such as Nelson Mandella, and way too little finding of common ground which feeds intolerance among religions, all of which keeps tearing scabs off old wounds before they get a chance to heal.I worked for, contributed to, and voted for change. I see seeds sprouting.May you all find peace, health, and happiness. Listen to the screams!Heathcliffe
