Agree, Green. Obama has been "picked", and he surely was a while back, even while running against Hillary.  Don't know why though.  But...does it matter?  He will be elected with a landslide of epic proportion if he can stay the course from now until election day.   I can't be convinced that whomever is President will change the country that much.  Look to Congress and the Senate.  We've had a Democratic Congress since 2006.  The economic shit hits the fan now, though it's been brewing ever since the housing crisis began around spring 2006 (no doubt the catalyst for the economic downturn in the first place), and the ..Republicans are seen as "causing" the economic problems.   And now....Obama of all people is going to "fix" it !   Really?  What has Obama ever said or done, which can make the public believe he will be "better" for the economy.  He proposes tax increases on corporations, raising the outside income tax bracket from 33 to 36 % or thereabouts, and increasing regulation.  These measures are good for the economy?
