The stipulations you are talking about are what the Democrats and Barney Frank want. Frank has been one of the primary movers and shakers trying to fix this plan so it is fair to the taxpayers and make it work. You keep throwing blame at Pelosi and now Frank but the hilarious part is they are the ones trying to do what you seem to feel is the right thing. If they had not put up a fight this thing would have been a plan that gave Paulson 700 billion without any oversight and zero responsibility to the taxpayers. That's what the Republicans wanted to do to you and your money, Pat. I swear to Christ, Pat, you are putting your faith in the wrong people here. Do not listen to O'Reilly and the talk radio nuts. They are trying to find a way to blame the Democrats for this any way they can because they are desperate to win an election. They are selling bullshit wholesale and McCain is going along for the ride. You know what Pelosi's great sin was in her speech, Pat? She told the truth in public on the floor of the house. The Republicans saw that as selling them out. Their idea of nonpartisan was doing this quietly in a backroom without involving the taxpayers and the Democratic leaders agreeing not to blow the whistle on them. Pelosi blew that sacred trust, she told the people what was happening and how disgusting it was and the Republicans shit their pants. See, that's DC. You have to go along with that pact of silence for both sides to come together. Pelosi told the American people the truth of what happened and that was a big no-no to the Republicans. Before you called Pelosi a bitch did you listen to what she said? I think you should and see if you can find where she was not telling the truth. Pelosi spoke for you, Pat, and so is Frank. Yeah, they probably will give them money but thanks to these "evil" Democrats at least they will have built some fairness into the deal for the taxpayers. Listen to what Pelosi said, Pat, and I think you'll find you are barking up the wrong tree.
