Green Cove station has been preserved and looks very much the same today as in this famous image taken by O. Winston Link in 1957. He has a collection of photos, mostly of steam trains, as he went around capturing them when he knew they were on the way out. Some of the most amazing shots are taken at night. Google him and you can see more. ( this isn't very large but it's the best I could find on the series of tubes. )

I have a this print framed and hanging here in my home office. It's officially titled "Maude Bows to the Virginia Creeper", Virginia Creeper being the name of the train as it had to work really hard through the mountainous terrain. There are a lot more trees and foliage around the station today as it serves as a ranger station and a communal area for the small community of Green Cove.
