I cannot believe that there is another human being that likes Bob Geldof's music! I also felt he was overlooked....I can see why he was in some ways, but the fact remains he has made some good music.I tried to read his autobiography, but could not get through the first few pages, lol. I will try it again. Did he talk much about his life? From what I could see it focused on Live Aid related stuff...which is all good but I am not interested in reading about it....You may find Gerry Agar's book has alot of interesting information about the breakup etc....not that I am a gossip whore, but I read it to see if it would give me some insight into the man who wrote the music that I liked so much. It was interesting reading....sad though.I mostly like the "Deep In The Heart Of Nowhere" music..although I recently bought the 4 disk special edition and owned all but one of the other cd's anyway....never took to the other stuff quite as much. I like "August Was A Heavy Month" as well, "In the Pouring Rain," "Night Turns To Day," "I Cry Too," so many.........Ah well, I will have to listen to the others more. The older I get, the more I find myself saying, "Fuck it, I am going to listen to my old favorites." I listen to Baerwald "Bedtime Stories," "David and David," Toni Childs "Union," Peter Gabriel miscellany, Hole "Celebrity Skin," various Marilyn Manson, some old Windham Hill piano music cd etc.... Adding into the mix some Doves, Tom Petty, Coldplay, and some others I will surely remember the minute I post this message off....I think I am an old stick in the mud, lol!Big Al sent me some damn nice Aussy music though, with about 300 songs on the discs, so I am still digesting that but loving it!Anyway......love to another Bob Geldof fan!
