My pleasure.
~~”The cd you are listing, "Sex Age And Death" has alot to do with his feelings about his ex-wife and her time with INXS singer Michael Hutchens.”~~
yep, that’s the story.
I read his book, “Is That It?” too many years ago to count, and listened to, “Deep in the Heart of Nowhere,” while reading the book & stretching/gessoing 4'X4', 4'X5' & 4'X8' canvas in the old Ma Bell building off 138 east of the Grapevine, CA, converted into an art studio by a lady who turned me on to the better aspects of Lou Reed and Sunny Rollins & the build-up effects of oil paint on the human physiology ~~ but, shush, don’t tell her I said that. I was just suggesting to a friend recently that Bob Geldof is a luminous poignant lyricist/melodysmith who has been overlooked...for his audacity I suppose, & who’s ditties I was glad to raise my sons on. They dug his songs as kids and I new their subconscious minds were being fed food for future thought & personal angst. So we pay him his just due around here. He gets a good ribbing by the European & American (& world) communities, no doubt, but IMHO his life is his, while his music is ours. Glad to have the music. Glad to know you are a fan too.
My favorite songs are:
Inside Your Head
Pale White Girls
Mudslide
The Great Song of Indifference
August Was A Heavy Month
Pulled Apart by Horses
Truly, True Blue (*)
I Cry Too
No Small Wonder
The End of the World
Thinking Voyager 2 Type Things
A Sex Thing
The House At The Top Of The World
The Roads Of Germany (After B.D)
…aw, really I like em all ~~ every one.
