This morning, IFC in the A.M. after a long night of not sleeping (much) with the fugly stranger in the mirror.  Anybody know what a face looks like totally covered in poison ivy & swelled-up like a cartoon sweet potatohead on steroids-gone-mad?  If the answer is no, well then very lucky you.  Slap-happy enough to be watching Garage Days, by Alex Proyas, for the second time.  &, while peering out through bulldog slits on my face; a lack of sleep the past two days; anti-inflammatory meds; & maybe even a little bit’o panic from the feeling I may never look right again ~~ Oh my GOITER, …just saw my reflection in the monitor! ~~ & I realized Garage Days ~~ a zany & farcical Aussie madcap about a garage band, etc. ~~ has a worthy, out of the ordinary, soundtrack. 

The cinematography is far from the cheesy Beatles flick ambience that it may be imitating & the drug sequences are kooky.  I heard Travis, Supergrass, The Hives, Tom Jones, Roxy Music & others.  This movie is easy to condemn, so don’t waste your time with it if critical denunciation is your bag: there won’t even be a challenge in it for you.   No doubt, they had some fun making it though.  Jeez, good thing I have these IKEA dressers to build…or the creepy, torturous, mask (that was once my face) keeping me on freak-of-nature lockdown might start feeling like a really stupid preconceived effort to avoid the grind.  I feel like I’m gona die tonight.

After 24 hours on the program, the burning itch has mellowed but it still feels like some loony toon has a bicycle airpump pushed into my neck and is pumpin away!!

I can’t tell if it’s temporary mild panic or if I’m actually starting to phase in & out a bit.  A little anaphylactic shock, maybe?  I think I better get off this thing and try to chill a bit........
