Even in the presence of the most benign-seeming of our political aerie, remember that they all have beaks and talons. Sometimes they bite or claw in a reflexive way, and damage is done without intention, or at least with plausible deniability.Many of the more accomplished ones have developed fangs.The best strategy is to stand at least five feet back from the cage. Should you come across a politician who is not caged, remember not to look him or her directly in the eye. You may be dealing with a feral type, who would as soon "rip out your throat" as "get out the vote."
So . . . be careful.
