I've had a lot of friends in the cattle business and my best friend was raised on a Holstein milk farm. He's doesn't have any cattle these days as we seem to both be wrapped up in the horse and mule world now.
You might find this guy's site interesting as well. He and his wife are cattle ranchers (and horse people) with a very interesting philosophy on ranching here in the states. I've promised myself that I'm going to take my horse down to their ranch one of these days and give him a little cow sense.
