Points all well taken, Pat. I was commenting that Rush made inappropriate remarks regarding Michael J. Fox's symptoms, implying they were in part "faked". Yes, Michael can be used as a pawn and I do agree that it is not only the government's concern about stem cell research (remember they do fund NIH and similar institutions, so they will never be totally uninvolved where scientific research is needed), but private companies do/will need to be involved as well. The problem is the current gov't has basically made stem cell research at least partially illegal. There are ethical issues; it's complicated. I dunno. Point in fact: PD is the most common neurodegenerative condition in humans over the age of 60-65; beyond that there's Alzheimers disease and as we approach 80 the incidence is 50%. Ouch. Time to eat a big MAC....I mean why not?
