The kids create these projects based on their interests.
Seems to me that if the kids really have created the project that they want to do on their interests, then all she needs to do is follow what they are doing and be a guide, perhaps mainly keeping them on track. Brainstorming with them. Hopefully money is not an issue in either they already have the tools needed of that they are creative in gathering them in a manner that is cost effective. Is there a time factor? Does she get to rock climb, listen to crickets and go swimming too? IMHO having language and literature as her strong points can help these kids immeasurably because thinking of doing it and communicating what you are thinking can be worlds apart. Sounds like an incredible program. I would love to hear how it is going!!!
