I picked up the new Monk and Coltrane disc and have been getting a huge kick out of it this week. I also got Brubeck's Jazz Impressions of Japan & JI of New York.
I could listen to Monk all day.
The Brubeck--Japan one was a long-time favorite during college days, when I picked it up on vinyl for a dime. Haven't heard it in decades, it seems, so the release to CD was welcome.
That Coltrane/Monk disc . . .
It's great for doing chicken on the rotisserie, with steamed Jasmine rice or buttery noodles, and green beans on the side. :) My rotisserie makes this neat little squeak once in a while--and it fits in, oddly enough.
