We just don't see the Bible in the same light. We've gone down this road before so there's no sense in re-hashing things. I have attached two links that you might find interesting. One is an article written by George Monbiot. It provides some insight into the Rapture-related motivations of some on the far-religious right. The other link, The Skepic's Annotated Bible, recounts the historical lies, err, innacuracies, contradictions, misogony, bad science etc.etc. in the Bible. Have you ever given it a look?

I truly mean no disrespect, and as I've said before, Jesus, as depicted in the Gospels, is awesome!  But, and this is a big but, the questioning side of me, the side that believes in the scientific method, the side that goes with evidence, has enormous doubts as to the veracity of the Bible. How do you reconcile what I, and many other people see, as so many errors in the Bible?
