The heart of what Mr. Maher wrote is this:

So, I take it you don't think much of Mr. Trivers. He holds the key to this discussion, which is not really a surprise. The other side of this is the unfortunate way in which you have chosen to view our species. I'd say you find us all a bit disgusting...please correct me if I'm wrong. We are a noble beast...but a beast still. We may strive to rise above that...which adds to our nobility...but we can't remove the "dog" from what we are and why should we? To please our God? Seems silly does it not? Why not revel in what we are? Will this anger the Gods?

I'm not even sure what your gripe is here Greenie...that what Maher wrote is not funny? Isn't that in the eye of the beholder?

Anyway, I think he's giving the finger to a certain group of people...not celebrating or having a laugh at teen sex...the message is you can pretend you are not what you are all you want it'll only fuck you up six ways from Sunday...as will being forced or encouraged to play by someone else's radically flawed rulebook.
