With us of course: the taxpayer at the end of the line pays first and suffers first when there is an oversight or an 'act of god'(sic). That's why, on the whole, the government can't be sued, god forbid they be held accountable. They put their hand in our pocket, get better pay and bennies than the average american and have the comfort of knowing they are virtually untouchable because the buck doesn't stop with them but with us.e.g., We just discovered a governmental oversight involving our auto registration where a state representative, 'repeatedly assured' us that while updating one record 'all' other records would be updated. Suffice it to say the other records were not updated. Fortunately my wife discovered this before the registration for two of our vehicles expired. When brought to the states attention they wouldn't mail us new forms and told us tough shit that we are being inconvenienced because one of their representatives misinformed us. Perhaps Vermont is not representative but I tend to think is gets worse the larger the state and considering we are one of the smallest....Talk is cheap too: they are so sorry sometimes.
