I'm mad at a president who has claimed for three years that homeland security is his top priority and yet we find ourselves in such a mess! Isn't it obvious that the planning for these predictable events has been pathetic? Why are we relying upon one foreign supplier? Why doesn't the government fund multiple domestic suppliers and carefully scrutinize their operations? 3000 died on 9-11 and we've spent hundreds of billions of dollars. How many thousands will die because we either didn't have enough vaccine or because we couldn't produce the proper type? Why can't multiple types of vaccine be produced in massive quantities with the ones not deemed to work well simply discarded? I'll wager that in this area we haven't spent a fraction of what the war has cost. If Gore oversaw this I would most assuredly be equally critical. And if we face a similar fiasco next year, whoever occupies the White House deserves the blame. Where does the buck stop?
