Kevin:The amount of rancor that is continiously raised about the issue of
homosexuality as it relates to those who call themselves Christians,
does not correspond to such a few number of words in the biblical
text. In my bible materials, I counted approximately 75 words
within the two passages of which you spoke.Conveniently, you forget the multiple times it says treat all men
equal and you zero in on two passages which contain fewer than
100 words to back up your beliefs. In context, this equates to two
paragraphs in a book of more than 1,000 pages.Pitifully little evidence, I would say . . . When one considers the high percentage of Christian priests who
are themselves gay --- this smacks of extreme hypocracy. It is
among the reasons why I renounced my Catholic baptism. Oh yes,
and that renunciation ceremony was conducted for me in private by
a priest who happens to also be himself, a gay man.Thank you for sharing your beliefs with me Kevin --- however, to
my eyes it has the appearance of a large group of people with
predisposed beliefs, who sought out the flimsiest evidence to
justify institutional hatred of a group of people who just so happen
to have a different sexual orientation. To think like this is exclusionary, perpetrates hatred of a large
group of people, and it institutionalizes hatred of a level that would
never be tolerated if the hated group were Jewish instead of being
gay.Well Kevin --- it is a FACT that my life was saved by a gay man. His name is Dr. Ross G. Hewitt --- the Medical Director of
Immunodeficiency Services at Erie County Medical Center, here in
Buffalo, New York. If I had those same feelings of hatred of gays, I
would have forced myself to go to a less qualified doctor, and I
would have died because of this. The reason I say this is because
the heterosexual doctor who could have cared for me is nowhere
near as professional, nor does he have the same clinic set up. This hypocritical nature of Catholic religion does nothing but
perpetrate hatred and division --- even in the face of their
preaching love and inclusion --- which as I have just pointed out
--- is a LIE.Kevin, would YOU let a gay doctor save your life?I would like to know your answer . . . thanks!KDB = Buffalo, NY USA
