I know Kevin. The edit feature is pretty cool. I need to edit more than most I think. I just type away and hit send.

I didn't think you dropped that line because I used it for a title but I did want to be clear that I had not said it. It was the line that got me rolling on the whole hypocrisy thing.

I know the things I wrote in response to you probably seem harsh and maybe even insane but I hope that you caught that abortion was not the heart of the matter.

It was all about the general web of lies, rationalizations, and sometimes utter nonsense we build our lives upon. The whole "not seeing the forest for the trees" thing and maybe the whole "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" thing.

I'm not full of hate or cold hearted. I really saw what you were saying as wrong and dishonest because you took something (in this case torture of Iraqi prisoners) people were upset and disturbed by and easily brushed it aside with "Ok, sure that's bad but this is much worse!"

It was as if you were "ranking" the horrors according to your own agenda. So, with a wave of your hand, you swept aside one persons horror in an attempt to replace with it your own horror. Now you can't decide what another persons horror is for them and you certainly can't rank them for another person.

Where it got even worse was when you attached a political agenda to your horror. You tried to swamp the conversation totally with "If you support Democrats, you support babykillers, and therefore you are a babykiller yourself."

Again here you waved your hand and said (whether you meant to or not) "You have no right to discuss your horrors because you won't put my horror first and therefore you are all bad people."

It seemed you wanted to try to minimize what happened in Iraq by saying "Abortion is bigger and worse than the rape and torture of Iraqis." and to push people away from talking about it. I mean it was as if you were saying "Ignore these little horrors they mean nothing. I will tell you what the big horror is and if you don't agree you will go to Hell because you are not on God's side."

Maybe that better explains why I said what I said. Maybe it doesn't.

These things we are talking about are above the simplicity of Republican vs. Democrat. I would hope when it gets right down to it you can see that and not see me or others here as just "tools of the left wing."

That is, plain and simple, just wrong.

                                                  Peace,

                                                              Reg
