Kevin,

It's beginning to sound like you would support Hitler if he said he was against abortion.

I think, as Ed pointed out, many of us have said to you that your stand on abortion is fine. It appears to be the defining issue of your life. This is how you are coming across though:

 George Bush did X...

Kevin G: Abortion!

Today at the 9/11 hearings he said Y...

Kevin G: Abortion!

Did you see what happened in Fallujah?

Kevin G: Abortion!

 Condi Rice said...

Kevin G: Abortion!

 But Kevin I...

Kevin G: Abortion!

 I just...

Kevin G: Abortion!

 But...

Kevin G: Abortion!

I was only trying to say...

Kevin G: Abortion!

See, where you are 100% wrong is trying to sell us on the idea that "this is all about loss of life"...it's not.

When a woman makes the choice to have an abortion it only affects her and maybe her own little circle of friends and family. It does not play a part in the lives of say...people in Spain who have never met her before.

When a president makes the choice to go to war he takes all of us with him like it or not. Every individual, even those yet to be born, suffer the consequences. He does in fact play a part in the lives of people in Spain and other countries when he makes the choice. So, to put all of our lives in jeopardy and future generations as well...that's a far greater decision to make.

When it becomes painfully clear the wrong choice has been made...which may become clear to different people at different times...then true leadership involves being able to make the choices that put us on a path to solving the issue.

It's not about loss of life. Loss of life is just a side effect of the disease. For you to keep trying to sell that here makes it sound as if you have lost your mind or, as some people assume, that you would do anything including sell your children for George Bush.

I'm going with you have not lost your mind and you are not so blindly devoted to Bush but I hope you start giving us some reason to trust those notions.

If you want to post something about abortion here once a week, fine. Do it in a separate thread but stop trying to tie abortion into all the other issues.

People are not hypocrites because they discuss the war, Bush, or anything else without adding abortion into the issue.

It is, in fact, you that ends up looking like the one that's dishonest because you try to prevent conversations from taking place about topics that we can only assume you don't like. You try to paint us all as "babykillers", because we discuss Bush or the war, and muddy the waters in every conversation with abortion.

I remember you said your wife once got bashed by a bunch of Democrats because she expressed her feelings on abortion. Well, go look in the mirror Kevin because you have become what you despise. You keep bashing and tarring us because we are expressing our feelings on these issues.

I would have defended your wife had I been there that day. I can't defend your behavior now though.

Just so we're clear, I'm not angry with you. I just want you to evaluate a little more closely where you're going with this stuff.

One note on this post. It's title "I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and listen to this hypocricy/bullshit any longer..." was cut and pasted from Kevin G's previous post exactly as he wrote it. The whole quote would not fit in the subject line and was as follows:

"I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and listen to this hypocricy/bullshit any longer without saying anything."

I thought it was important to note that these were not my words, they were Kevin G's. It is also important to me to be clear about that because it was that quote that really inspired what I wrote in response. He has since removed this line using the edit feature.
