Kevin, that reminds me of something I always have kinda surmised on my own.  You find some things that seem unifying the world over, like it's Mother Earth, and she's giving everybody a "taste"...so no matter where you live, you see/feel certain beauties that can also be found elsewhere.  Maybe it was "designed" that way for folks who will never be able to travel...who knows?  Cool observation of yours, though. 

Do you think it has to do with Continental Drift, or similar climactic zones, etc.. Anybody know?
