Thanks, David, maybe we can chat more about this. I can arrange such a trip actually very easily with one of the outfitters based in Northern Ontario.  They do custom trips, where all you have to do is get 5 or so people to sign up...you can go alone or with guide. They do food, equip, and canoes..shuttles or fly-in if necessary, and everyone just has to bring their personal effects and sleeping bag.  Choose your route, time, and ...you're OFF !   I'm long overdue for one. I used to do one every summer.  I've been spending the last few summers at my friend's cabin in Northern Ontario...and it's a primo situation.  We're isolated, have virtually the whole lake to ourselves and the fishing is superb.  Yeah, campfires, guitar, whiskey, the whole 9 yards.   We even have a wood-fired sauna!
