Someone posted about Nova Scotia (I believe it was Dan, but am too lazy to go back and look) and this made me wonder - for those on the board, what is the most beautiful place you have visited?

There are many places I'd like to go some day, but so far I've always loved swamps, mountains and other nature sites, but oddly, the one place that brings forth the most intense memories was that of the Saudia Arabian desert back in 91. It was such a mass of contrasting things - at day it was barren and ugly, while at night, calm and beautiful. The stars were the brightest I have ever seen and the silence at night astounding.

I think the reason (Gulf I) I was there also added to the feeling this environment created.
