Pat,Well, I went back and pulled up several of the places where the quotes came from and came away with guess what? Yes, context is everything. It appears the 98 quotes come from people who are making them to justify a missle attack by Clinton in 98. So that doesn't surprise me at all - that is what all politicians do.Next, I pulled up the one's by Gore and Gore's comments were made under the auspices of his running again in 04 and to push Shrub towards a true coalition. However, the big issue is why did all of these polticians and the right side believe all of the intelligence saying Iraq had all of these weapons? And I'll tell you.....pick up a copy of the new Atlantic Jan/Feb issue and pick up an issue of the New Yorker about about month ago. There are three main groups of people in the Shrub Whitehouse that need to be fired - Cheney and his group; Rumsfeld and his group and Wolfowitz and his group. In the latest in depth news articles I have read, at its most simplest form, these people took all intelligence, cut out the CIA and other intelligence experts and then cherry picked the data they wanted regardless of its accuracy. This practice is covered in all of these articles and is shameful. For example, in one of the New Yorker articles by Seymour Hershe, he wrote how there really was a wonderful Post-War Iraq document written, but the Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz crowd not only shitcanned it, but refused to allow those planners involved in the Post-War planning. The article in the new Atlantic mentions this. I suggest picking it up. I'll say this about our military leadership, it is good the ones that had balls stood up against Rumsfeld because he originally only wanted 75,000 troops for Iraq! Can you imagine that Pat! 75,000.
